Form DPT-3

DPT-3 — Return of Deposits

Annual return of loans and money received that are not deposits.

About the filing

What is DPT-3?

DPT-3 is a critical but often-missed annual filing that reports every outstanding amount received by a company which is not classified as a deposit — loans from directors and their relatives, inter-corporate loans, share application money pending allotment beyond 60 days, and receipts from holding or subsidiary companies.

Applicability

Every company (other than a government company) that has any outstanding loan, advance or money received — from directors, holding company, banks or others — as on 31 March.

Due Date

On or before 30 June each year, for outstanding amounts as on 31 March of the same year.

Penalty on Default

Rs. 5,000 for the company plus Rs. 500 per day of continuing default on the company and every officer in default under Rule 21 of Companies (Acceptance of Deposits) Rules, 2014.
