ADT-1 — Auditor Appointment

About the filing

What is ADT-1?

ADT-1 is the intimation to the Registrar of Companies about the appointment of a company's statutory auditor for a term of five years (or a shorter period on rotation). It is filed once every five years for a reappointment, and each time an auditor is newly appointed or replaced.

Applicability

Every company (except OPCs and small companies for reappointment of the first auditor) must file ADT-1 on appointment or reappointment of the statutory auditor.

Due Date

Within 15 days from the date of the AGM at which the auditor is appointed or reappointed.

Penalty on Default

Additional fees of up to 12 times the normal filing fee under the Companies (Registration Offices and Fees) Rules, 2014.
